Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their client's team in Fremont, California. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn and develop hands-on skills in various maintenance areas. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will support building operations, perform routine maintenance, and assist with repairs. Training will be provided, making prior experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections and routine maintenance of buildings and equipment.
  • Learn and perform basic landscaping tasks: pulling weeds, planting flowers/shrubs, and maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Learn and perform janitorial duties: mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and maintaining supplies.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance under supervision, such as changing HVAC filters and cleaning coils.
  • Assist with general maintenance: blowing parking lots, emptying trash, power washing, painting, and replacing ceiling tiles.
  • Learn minor electrical repairs: replacing bulbs, ballasts, and cleaning fixtures.
  • Learn minor plumbing repairs: unclogging toilets, sinks, and drains.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Complete daily time sheets and follow documentation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Note: All training and skill development will be provided on the job.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • No prior experience necessary; willingness to learn is required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic communication skills in English preferred.

Physical / Mental Requirements

  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive tasks, including squatting, bending, and lifting.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights (up to 8-10 feet).
  • Work in inclement weather.
  • Stand, walk, and use hands for tasks 6-8 hours/day.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Regularly enter and exit vehicles, and drive in daylight or occasionally evening hours.

Benefits

Competitive hourly pay with a range from $19 to $23 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
